What Makes Google Trends Enhanced Powerful
Search More Than Five Keywords
Whether you apply Google Trends through the website or writing a program to call the API, as long as you use the service of Google Trends, you can only search for up to five keywords at a time. This is a restriction set by Google and cannot be changed. Then why can the Google Trends Enhanced search multiple keywords at once? The task Google Trends Enhanced does is to group all keywords, obtain each search interest, then merge the data, and export it into a Excel file.
The core concepts are easy to understand, but there are still some difficulties to overcome. First of all, the data provided by Google Trends is a comparative value of search popularity, not an absolute value.
For example, the following two pictures are the search trends of “Stock, COVID-19” and “iPhone, Stock”. In the first picture, the word Stock has its highest point at the end of January 2021, and the search popularity is 100; In the second picture, the highest point of Stock still appears at the end of January 2020, but the search popularity is only about 85, and the word iPhone will show search popularity of 100 in mid-October 2020.

The solution of Google Trends Enhanced is to group all keywords and find a benchmark in the first group of keywords, like the word 1 in the figure below. Starting from the second group, the word 1 will be added to each group, then query the search data from Google Trends. With Word 1 as the center, and the values will be scaled in equal proportions.

Obtain Daily Data
On the Google Trends website, as long as the data is more than nine months old, the data will be merged by week, which is very inconvenient to use. Whether you are doing marketing research, social media analysis, or machine learning, daily data is in the most flexible format.
Of course, downloading in batches in half a year is a feasible solution, but it is still time-consuming, I hope Google Trends Enhanced can be a lifesaver. Moreover, you will face the same problems from the aforementioned situation, which means you have to group keywords, set a benchmark then scale the data manually in Excel. I bet you will no longer want to try.
