In recent years, Chinese terminology has increasingly appeared in the daily lives of Taiwanese people. While the blending and mixing of languages is a normal phenomenon, cultural invasion with political implications is still worth attention.
Chinese Vocabulary Radar is a Google Chrome extension that can scan Chinese terminology on web pages and highlight it in yellow. The code and comparison table for this project have been open-sourced on GitHub, and you can freely share, modify, or use it for commercial purposes without obtaining any authorization.
The purpose of this tool is to enhance Taiwanese people’s sensitivity to language usage, not to create conflict and confrontation. Therefore, this tool is named “Chinese Vocabulary Radar” rather than the derogatory “CCP Language Radar.”
Usage Interface
- After installation is complete, a small radar icon will appear in the upper right corner of the browser. Click it to scan for Chinese terminology on web pages.
- After checking “Auto Scan,” you still need to manually click the radar icon to scan for Chinese terminology on web pages.
Advanced Usage
Using with AI You can find ` in the chrome-extension folder on GitHub. This file contains all the data for Taiwanese and Chinese terminology. Click the button in the image below to get the link to this file.taiwan_china_vocabs.json`
Then provide the link to AI and ask the AI to convert Chinese terminology in the following text to Taiwanese terminology based on this comparison table. Example as follows:
